The Mu Eta chapter is diverse in and of itself, with members from many different racial, religious, regional, and other backgrounds.Mixers have included events like ice cream nights, bowling, put-put golf, themed parties, and networking events. In Sigma Nu, it allows you to meet other people in a fun environment and become comfortable getting to know people you have met for the first time. Fraternity life is social in nature, but that does not imply drinking or partying.You will learn how to plan events, work with people, hold members accountable for their behaviors, confront inappropriate behavior, build relationships, and praise others for a job well done. Sigma Nu is a group of men who work together to achieve goals.Recognizing this important idea, the LEAD Officer facilitates a transition workshop to help chapters facilitate the passing of responsibility to newer members. Chapter members learn from and build on previous experiences and leadership positions.Additionally, there are chances to shadow and learn from current officers. Within weeks of becoming affiliated with the Mu Eta chapter, you will have brothers with whom you will form a mentoring relationship and go to for guidance and support.There is a specific training for new members, for initiated chapter members, and for those holding positions within the chapter. Sigma Nu offers leadership training and development at a chapter, campus, regional, and national level.At a community level, the Order of Omega recognizes outstanding Greek leaders for their valuable service. Our chapter has leadership positions, financial responsibilities, and policies and procedures to follow, much like most organizations and companies. The chance to be a leader is not only available but expected.The Greek experience facilitates personal development according to the university-wide undergraduate experience, which is designed to be intentional, comprehensive, and developmental.How will joining Sigmga Nu Fraternity help me? Compared to non-Greek students, Greeks are 2.6 times more likely to graduate within six years and make approximately $5,000 more in their first job.Employers will value the skills you will develop through your Greek experience. You will improve your communication and interpersonal skills though your interactions and leadership experiences. ![]() For example, Sigma Nu's SIGMA Plan and Scholarship Chairman keep check with grades and offers opportunities for tutoring and other educational assistance through programs within the university and the community. Educational programs will introduce you to campus resources that will help you excel. ![]()
